NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. (EYT) — Four area fire companies responded to a call at the Smuckers Plant in New Bethlehem this morning but weren’t on the scene very long.

New Bethlehem, Hawthorn, Limestone, and Distant Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a call at the plant at 11:28 a.m. according to the Clarion County Department of Public Safety but were able to clear the scene around 12:45 p.m. At around 12:20 p.m. no fire, flames or smokes was visible although it appeared hoses were going inside the building.

Employees were held in the parking lot but were able to reenter the building at about 12:50 p.m.

The departments were assisted by the Clarion Hospital EMS Station 4 and the New Bethlehem Police Department, while the Clarion Fire Department was on standby.
