St. Petersburg Teen Crashes Vehicle into Embankment in Venango County

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say a one-vehicle crash occurred on Wednesday night in Rockland Township, Venango County.

According to police, around 8:09 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 18-year-old Aaron W. Stephens, of St. Petersburg, was operating a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee, traveling south on Potters Falls Road.

Stephens lost control of the vehicle as he was attempting to negotiate a curve to the right in the roadway. The vehicle began to slide on the gravel and dirt on the roadway and hit an embankment on the left side of the road. It then proceeded to ride along the embankment where it struck several rocks near the end of the embankment. The vehicle came to final rest approximately ten feet from the rocks it had struck.

Stephens and his passenger — a 17-year old Emlenton male — were both wearing seatbelts and were not injured.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was removed from the scene by a private tow.

Rockland Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
