The Clarion County YMCA Summer Slim Down Challenge begins on April 4, 2018, and is open to any member or non-member who needs some extra motivation to lose weight.

Cash isn’t the only incentive in the program.  Weekly challenges will motivate you to reach your weight loss goals with weekly bonuses.

Participant weigh-ins will be held on April 4 and April 5 from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the YMCA.  After weighing-in, each participant will have their weight loss goal calculated.  Goals will be based on weigh-in weight, and each participant will try to lose 6% of their body weight.  The weight loss goal for a 175 pound person is 11 pounds.

The challenge is open to members and non-members.  Members pay $20.00 to join the challenge and non-members pay $20.00, plus a $10.00 administrative fee.  The $20.00 challenge fee goes into the winners’ pot, and those who lose 6% or more of their body weight at the weigh-out collect the cash.

Last year the winners took home $94.00 each.

The challenge lasts eight weeks, and contestants must weigh out on May 30 or May 31 from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to be eligible to collect cash prizes.
