Kristina DeMatteis, a freshman, hit a walk-off RBI in the bottom of the seventh to break a scoreless tie and lead the Lady Knights to a 1-0 win against Mercyhurst last Monday. She also recorded a pair of sacrifice bunts in the 4-3 win against the Lakers in game two. DeMatteis smacked a solo home run, the first of her career, in the 10-4 win against Seton Hill last Friday. She went 2-for-4 with a double in the 8-2 victory against the Griffins in game two. In the 8-2 win against Slippery Rock on Sunday, DeMatteis crushed a three-run double to right center. The rookie is hitting .250 as Gannon’s starting third baseman.

Kennedy DeMatteis, a freshman, registered three wins in three appearances last week. She recorded 12 strikeouts and scattered 16 hits, allowing just five runs across 19 innings of work. In her first career at-bat against Slippery Rock on Sunday, DeMatteis busted a two-run home run to right center. The rookie posts a 2.38 ERA in 12 appearances in the circle, as a member of the pitching unit that has a PSAC-low 2.01 ERA. DeMatteis has logged five complete games and one shutout this season.
