Keystone High School Wins Clarion-Jefferson Regional Safe Driving Competition

CLARION CO., Pa. (ETY) — Thirty-three students from eleven schools in Clarion and Jefferson counties competed in a safe driving competition this week.

Students had to maneuver a car through a driving course, take a written exam, and a perceptual test.

Sheriff Rex Munsee and Sheriff Carl Gotwald helped the IUP Institute for Rural Health and Safety organize the event. Dave Jones, from Allstate, awarded scholarships for the top three individuals.

Keystone high school took first place overall in the competition. In the picture above: Connor Exley, Mason Burns, Rachel Riley, and Brigette Rivers (driver’s education instructor).

Mason Burns earned a $500 scholarship for his second place individual contribution. He will advance to the state-wide competition in Camp Hill on May 7, 2018. Connor Exley had the highest score on the written test, and Rachel Riley’s high scores overall contributed to the team win.
