Dancer’s Studio Attends Seven Springs Competition

CHAMPION, Pa. (EYT) – Dancer’s Studio Competition Team and Company dancers successfully competed at the Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Seven Springs Convention & Performing Arts Competition.

The 34 dancers attended the convention that took place from March 28 to March 31 at Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Champion, Pa. The dancers brought home 10 Platinum awards, 33 High Gold awards, and four Gold awards.

Dancer’s Studio owner A-Jo Gallagher received the choreography award for “Kid in a Candy Store.”

A Judges Choice Award for Ballet was given to Katrina Spencer and Ainsley Wolfe for “Mirage.” Spencer and Wolfe also received a Point Park University Summer Intensive Scholarship.

“This week is always one to look forward to. DS is one of the top competitors, but the awards are only a little part of what it’s about,” Gallagher said. “The DS families and students really come together. The camaraderie and support for every routine is incredible. It’s a fun week and makes our last competition of the year a memorable one.”

Several soloists were honored to receive placement awards. The overall awards went to the following: Division 2: Caitlin Wolfe – 5th Place, Aoife Salusky – 10th Place; Division3: Gracie Dunkle -6th Place; Division 4: Abbey Barron -7th Place, Kaylee Baumcratz – 8th Place, Kylie Mumford – 9th Place; Division 6 & 7: Katrina Spencer-5th Place.

Placement awards were also given to the following numbers: “BFF’s” – 4th Place Division 2 Duo; “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” – 2nd Place Division 2 Trio; “Time” – 5th Place Division 3 Duo; “Wild Horses” – 5th Place Division 4 Trio; “Wild Waters” – 2nd Place Division 5 Duo; “Kid in a Candy Store” – 1st Place Division 1 Small Lines; “Miracle” – 1st Place Division 2 Small Lines.

A-Jo Gallagher choreographed six of the overall dances. Shannon Peterson, teacher at Dancer’s Studio, choreographed four of the overall dances. Channing Cooke, a guest choreographer from LA, choreographed two of the dances, Rory Freeman from Rhode Island choreographed one of the overall dances, and Cat Cogliandro, who travels between LA and New York, also choreographed one of the overall dances.

In addition to the competition, students attended classes in ballet, tap, hip hop, and contemporary jazz.

Dancer’s Studio Competition Team includes the following dancers: Abbey Barron, Kaylee Baumcratz, Summer Bish, Reigyn Brosius, Reese Cornecki, Gracie Dunkle, Janiya Jones, Abigail Keth, Rylee Lindenpitz, Ava Love, Jordon McElravy, Kylie Mumford, Angela Olson, Jadyn Reisinger, Madilyn Ruhlman, Aoife Salusky, Charlotte Schultz, Taylor Sherbine, Addison Siegel, Nevaeh Smith, Katrina Spencer, Ainsley Wolfe, and Caitlyn Wolfe.

The Company is comprised of the 23 Competition Team members and the following dancers: Emerson Eustice, Brooklyn Hepler, Lacey Lauer, Danielle Laverdure, Bella McClain, Erin McCleary, Willow Ramseur, Markie Raybuck, Caitlin Reinsel, Emma Shaffer, and Madilyn Simpson.

Dancer’s Studio will hold their spring recital “Dance: The Universal Language” at Clarion-Limestone Auditorium on Friday, May 11, at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, May 12, at 1:00 p.m., and Saturday, May 12 at 6:00 p.m.
