Fitzingo Helps Moniteau Baseball top Clarion

SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. (D9Sports) — Hunter Fitzingo tossed a two-hit shutout and also was on base twice to help visiting Moniteau roll to a 12-0, five-inning win over Clarion at the Clarion County Park.

Fitzingo needed just 77 pitches to get through the five innings. He didn’t walk a batter and struck out nine. On offense, he was 1-for-4 with a walk.

Nick Sosigian had four RBIs for the Warriors going 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored, while Jake Jewart was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, three runs scored and an RBI. Jared Lominski and Nathan Sosigian also drove in a pair of runs each with Lominski going 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored and Nathan Sosigian 2-for-2 with two walks. Gage Neal chipped in a double, two walks and an RBI

Spencer Miller and Cutter Boggess had the hits for Clarion.

Skylar Rhoades took the loss allowing four runs, all earned, on a hit and five walks in an inning of work. Miller then gave up six runs, two earned, in 1 2/3 innings on the mound. He allowed five hits and a walk and struck out two. Calvin German gave up two runs, both earned, in 2/3 of an inning allowing two hits and three walks while striking out one. Sterling Conner finished off with two scoreless innings of relief allowing a hit and two walks while striking out one.
