SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — Wolf’s Auto Outlet is celebrating their 20th year in business with sales through Saturday, April 28.
In March of 1998 Wolf’s Auto Outlet opened its first pre-owned car dealership in Shippenville. Owners Joe Wolf and Bob Shaffer combined their experience and found the perfect location on Route 322 on the Clarion River Hill.
After the immediate success of the dealership, they quickly expanded operations in May of 2001 and opened another location on Allegheny Boulevard in Brookville. Having made many friends in the car business, they were able to reconnect with those friends to become part of the Wolf’s Auto team.
In September of 2002, Wolf’s became a CarMate dealer selling trailers to go along with their vehicle sales at both locations. CarMate turned out to be a great mix to the sales, as the need for trailers was in demand and there seemed to be a nice blend of trailers for every occasion.
In October of 2005, Wolf’s expanded its operations to include DuBois by adding a location in front of the DuBois mall on Highway 255. Again, they were able to reach out to previous fellow employees and have them become part of the special team of people.
Once again, they added the CarMate trailers to the mix of choices at the DuBois location. By having the three locations they were able to shuffle cars back and forth to offer different choices of vehicles to different locations.
The first ten years were very busy, but then the recession hit starting in December of 2007. The decision was made to close the Brookville location in March of 2009.
In 2013, Wolf’s Auto Outlet received the Business of the Year “Community Service Division” award for the many contributions to the community. It was an honor for them to receive this award as their contributions to the community and to be recognized means a lot.
In October of 2015, Wolf’s Auto Outlet lost one of their owners, Bob Shaffer. It was a sudden loss to the business and challenged them to make up for the experience that Bob had brought over the years. Bob is sorely missed to this day.
Wolf’s Auto Outlet made the decision to come full circle with the closing of the DuBois location in November of 2017 and continue with the one location that they started with 20 years ago.
The dealership has many other challenges that exist in business today, and the online presence of different resources in having information available to the consumer is one of them.
With the social media websites such as Facebook and Twitter, it is a challenge to determine how best to advertise vehicles and trailers. There are so many platforms for the consumers to choose from, and a car dealership must constantly stay aware of their presence on these websites.
Wolf’s Auto Outlet is constantly improving its website and online platforms to provide the best possible service to the consumer. They have simplified the website wolfsauto.com and have a following on their Facebook page.
This year they even had Maiyun join the team at Wolf’s Auto Outlet.
