Christmas Parade, Snacks with Santa, Comedy Show Slated for Saturday in New Bethlehem

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. (EYT) – It is getting to be that time of the year where the hustle and bustle begin to pick up as activities, shopping, and the Christmas spirit begin to kick into high gear.

New Bethlehem is hosting a trio of activities on Saturday, December 1, to kick off the month of December.

The day of events will begin with the annual Christmas Parade sponsored by the Redbank Valley Chamber of Commerce. The parade will travel along Broad Street and is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.

Immediately following the parade at the New Bethlehem Fire Hall, residents will have the opportunity to bring their youngsters to share a cookie or two with Santa Claus at the annual Snack with Santa event sponsored by the New Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Company.

Admission for both events is free to the public.

At 7:00 p.m., New Bethlehem Moose Lodge #366 will be sponsoring a comedy show at the lodge. The show will feature comedians Kirk Bogos and Amanda Averell.

Bogos, a Cleveland comedian, was one of the winners of The World Series of Comedy in Boston and went on to perform at the Main Event in Las Vegas. His bio also boasts that he briefly appeared in Marvel’s blockbuster The Avengers as “Man Getting Out of Bus.”

His comedy routine highlights life growing up in the 1960s and 1970s while also laughing about the pure irony and humor that takes place in everyday life.

Averell, a Pittsburgh comedian, is a stand-up comedian, writer, producer, and improviser. She has been a feature performer at a multitude of comedy shows including the Pittsburgh Comedy Festival, World Series of Comedy, Milwaukee Comedy Festival, and Green Bay Improv Festival.

Averell also writes and acts for Persons of Disinterest, a sketch group while also appearing as a guest performer in an additional sketch group, Secondhand Sketch.

Tickets, which can be purchased at the door, are $25.00 for individuals or $40.00 per couple.

Ticket purchases include a spaghetti dinner and select drinks. There will also be a cash bar and a Bloody Mary special throughout the evening or comedy.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
