Sharilyn “Shari” Weaver

Sharilyn “Shari” Weaver of Oil City, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her residence on Wednesday, May 2.

Shari was born March 29, 1954, in Oil City. She was the daughter of the late Fred C. Davis, Sr. and Ruth A. Neely Davis.

She graduated from Cranberry High School in 1972.

She met her husband, Martin Hutchinson, through mutual friends in 1985.

She was a daughter, wife, mom, sister, grandma and a friend. And in all those things she was kind, loyal, hardworking, thoughtful and forgiving. She saw the best in everyone and gave everyone the benefit of the doubt. She embodied what we should all strive to be every day.

She was an artist. She was a crafter and loved craft shows. She loved to read and watch movies and old TV shows. She was a bargain shopper. And she had a great sense of humor and was always good for a one-liner when you least expected it. She was an animal lover and her terrier/beagle Lady was her faithful companion.

Her family was her life and she never ceased to sacrifice to make sure they were taken care of and happy. She faced whatever life threw at her without complaint.

In addition to her husband Martin, she is survived by her four children. Leigh Ann (Tim) Dunaway of Pittsburgh, Greg Weaver of Texas, Ryan (Michelle) Hutchinson of North Carolina and Dr. Douglas (Alicia) Hutchinson of Saegertown.

Also surviving are two brothers, Fred (Elizabeth) Davis Jr of Arizona and Dr. Wes (Jane) Davis of Georgia.

She is also survived by her grandchildren Alyssa, Elliot, Landon, Nolan, Henry, Emma, Anne, and Kylie, as well as her nephew Collin.

Friends will be received from noon to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, at the Morrison Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, May 6, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Brenda Snedden officiating.
