Gabriel A. Restauri

Gabriel A. Restauri, 80, a resident of Polk Street, Franklin, died peacefully Thursday, May 10, 2018, shortly after his arrival at UPMC-Hamot in Erie with his family by his side.

He was born March 10, 1938, in Export, Westmoreland County, a beloved son of the late Louis and Chiara Persia Restauri.

He was a 1956 graduate of Franklin Regional High School in Murraysville.

He proudly served his country during peacetime with the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of St. Patrick Church in Franklin.

Mr. Restauri enjoyed gardening and working around his home, fishing, walking, and the companionship of his beloved dog, Dottie, and spending quality time with his children and grandchildren. He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steeler and Pittsburgh Pirate fan.

He was married April 28, 1962, to the former Joanne Clagett, who survives.

In addition to his beloved wife of 56 years, he is survived by his son, Andrew A. Restauri and his wife Cindy of Franklin, and by his daughter, Sherri A. Restauri of Palm Harbor, FL, as well as by two grandsons, Joshua A. Restauri of Columbia, SC, and Benjamin J. Restauri of Franklin.

He is also survived by two sisters, Gilda Thompson and Dena Patrick, in addition to many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mafalda, Lucy, Margaret, Helen, and Elvira.

Friends may call Monday 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk Street, Franklin. Friends may also call Tuesday 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, where a Blessing Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Immediately following, full military rites will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Funeral Honor Guard of Franklin.
