State Police Calls: Criminal Mischief, Suicide Attempt, DUI, Harassment, Firearms Violation, Hit and Run

CLARION CO. Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police responded to the following calls:

Criminal Mischief in Clarion Township

According to police, sometime between 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 14, and 8:50 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, an unknown individual damaged a victim’s garage door with an arrow at a private residence in Clarion Township.

The investigation is ongoing.

Suicide Attempt in Clarion Township

Around 1:56 p.m. on Friday, May 11, PSP Clarion investigated a call regarding a known 23-year-old female who intentionally ingested one-third of a bottle of acetaminophen.

This occurrence was handled without incident.

DUI in Clarion Township

Around 8:29 a.m. on Monday, April 30, PSP Clarion investigated an incident of DUI on 28th Division Highway/Old US 322 in Clarion Township.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that children were present in the vehicle.

A known, 48-year-old Knox woman was subsequently arrested for DUI and Endangering the Welfare of Children.

Harassment in Clarion Township

According to police, around 5:58 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, an incident was reported by a known female victim alleging that 28-year-old Adam Christopher MacCready hit her during an argument at a residence on South 5th Avenue in Clarion Township.

MacCready was issued a Non-Traffic Citation for Harassment.

Firearms Act Violation in Fairmount City

According to police, this incident occurred when a known 45-year-old male suspect who was a not to purchase a firearm attempted to buy a 9MM caliber handgun at a Fairmount City business.

This case is being investigated.

Hit and Run at Clarion Walmart

A Knox man was cited after police say he hit a parked car in a parking lot and then drove away.

According to police, around 3:25 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 39-year-old Chad M. Nellis, of Knox, was operating a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado in the parking lot of Walmart in Clarion.

Police say Nellis backed out of his parking stall, failing to observe the limited distance between his vehicle and a 2013 Toyota Tundra parked next to it. As Nellis was backing up, the driver side of the mirror of his vehicle struck the driver side mirror of the Toyota.

According to police, Nellis fled the scene by initially driving through the north parking lot of Walmart, then departing the area via Perkins Drive.

Nellis was cited for a violation of accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property.
