West Forest Elementary Students Study Solar System

TIONESTA, Pa. (EYT) – Inspired by this year’s West Forest Elementary carnival, Mrs. Druckemiller’s fourth grade class has been studying the solar system.

They have been learning the different phases of the moon by creating an oreo model and singing a song that they greatly enjoy, “The Phases of the Moon!”

Each student created a mobile to hang from the classroom ceiling as they learned the order of the planets from the sun.

They also created a scale using centimeters and measured each planet from the sun to visually understand the distance between the sun and each planet of the solar system.
