Official Election Results Released

election-resultsCLARION, Pa. (EYT) — Official election results have been released for Clarion and Forest Counties.

U.S. Senator

In the race for U.S. Senator, on the Republican side, Jim Christiana won 55.88% of the vote in Clarion County with 1872 votes, while Lou Barletta won 43.7% of the vote with 1464 votes. There were also 14 write-in votes. In Forest County, Christiana had 250 votes, while Barletta had 199.

On the Democratic ticket, Bob Casey Jr. won 97.94% of the votes with 1523 in Clarion County. There were also 32 write-in votes. In Forest County, Casey had 220 votes.

Governor

In the race for Governor, the field was split between three contenders on the Republican ticket. Statewide winner Scott R Wagner came in second in Clarion County, accounting for 41.10% of the votes, with 1463 votes. Paul Mango was the local favorite, winning 44.38% of the votes with 1580 in Clarion County. Laura Ellsworth fell in a distant third place, winning just 14.07% of the votes with 501 votes. There were also 16 write-in votes.

In Forest County, Wagner came out on top with 197 votes, while Mango won 178, and Ellsworth got 108.

On the Democratic ticket, incumbent Tom Wolf took 94.35% of the votes with 1469 votes in Clarion County, while an additional 5.65% of Democratic votes, totaling 88 votes, were write-ins. Wolf also had 211 votes in Forest County

Lieutenant Governor

The crowded field in both parties made for an interesting primary race for the Lieutenant Governor candidacy.

On the Republican side, statewide winner Jeff Bartos was also the local favorite, accounting for 44.78% of the vote, totaling 1500 votes in Clarion County. Kathy Coder won 26.33% of the vote, with 882 votes; Diana Irey Vaughan won 14.51% with 486 votes, and Peg Luksik took 13.94% with 467 votes. There were also 15 write-in votes, accounting for a meager 0.45% of the votes.

In Forest County, Bartos was also the frontrunner with 182 votes, while Coder had 126, Vaughan took 66, and Luksik won 76.

On the Democratic side, statewide winner John Fetterman was the clear local favorite, accounting for 63.58% of the votes in Clarion County, with 1042 votes. Among the other Democrat candidates, Kathi Cozzone won 16.72% of the votes with 274 votes, Nina Ahmad accounted for 10.25% of the votes with 168 votes, Mike Stack accounted for 5.25% of the votes with 86 votes, and Ray Sosa won 2.87% of the votes with 47 votes. There were also 22 write-in votes.

Fetterman also won by a distinct margin in Forest County, where he had 137 votes while Cozzone had 39 votes, Ahmad had 31 votes, Stack had 15 votes, and Sosa had 10 votes.

15th District Congressional Representative

In the race for the newly minted 15th Congressional District, incumbent Glenn “G.T.” Thompson ran unopposed on the Republican ballot. In Clarion County, Thompson accounted for 99.00% of the votes with 3350. There were also 34 write-in votes cast. Thompson also had 438 votes in Forest County.

On the Democratic ballot, Susan Boser accounted for 72.91% of the votes in Clarion County with 1141 votes, while Wade Jodun took 23.00% of the votes with 360 votes. There were also 64 write-in votes, accounting for 4.09% of the votes in Clarion County. Boser was also the clear winner in Forest County with 193 votes to Jodun’s 32 votes.

63rd District General Assembly Representative

In an interesting turn of events, though incumbent Rep. Donna Oberlander was running unopposed on the Republican ticket, with no challengers running on the Democratic ticket, a successful write-in campaign by upstart Conrad Warner is visible in the final results from both parties.

On the Republican side, Donna Oberlander took 94.76% of the votes in Clarion County with 3329 votes, while 164 write-ins cast for Conrad Warner accounted for another 4.67% of the votes. There were also 20 write-in votes for other candidates. In Forest County, Oberlander had 153 votes, while Warner had an additional 14 on the Republican side.

On the Democratic ballot, Conrad Warner won 65.67% of the votes in Clarion County with 593 write-in votes, while Donna Oberlander made another showing, winning 31.01% of the votes with 280 write-in votes. There were also 30 other write-in vote cast. In Forest County, Warner had just 8 votes to Oberlander’s ten on the Democratic side.
