Truck Driver Assaults, Robs Victim in Brookville

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — Police say what started as an altercation between two truck drivers at a local truck stop ended with one of the men facing criminal charges.

The Brookville Police Department has charged a known 62-year-old Massachusetts man with aggravated assault, robbery, tampering with evidence, and other related offenses following an incident that occurred last week.

According to police, on May 17, at approximately 4:00 p.m., two long-haul truck drivers were involved in an altercation that ended in assault and robbery.

It is alleged that the known Massachusetts man assaulted a known West Virginia man in the truck parking lot at the Flying J truck stop. The West Virginia man was then robbed of his cell phone and left unconscious in the parking lot.

Police were able to identify the suspect through an investigation and cooperation between various companies and agencies.

Charges were filed at District Magistrate Bazylak’s office.

The victim was treated at Penn Highlands Brookville before being transported to Allegheny General Hospital.

The name of the suspect was not released.
