Fryburg Mayfest Kicks Off Today with 5K Fun Run/Walk in Memory of Kami Dinger, Corn Hole Tournament, and More

FRYBURG, Pa. (EYT) – The 27th Annual Fryburg Mayfest kicks off on Friday, May 25, with a 5k Fun Run/Walk in Memory of Kami Dinger.

The Fun Run/Walk starts at 7:00 p.m. – beginning and ending at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fryburg.

The course will take runners/walkers along State Route 208 to Marble and back. Route 208 will be closed between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. for the runners/walkers’ safety.

The race is in memory of Kami Dinger (pictured below).

A Corn Hole Contest – in memory of Dick Kapp, proceeds will benefit Alzheimer’s Association – will also be held at 7:00 p.m. at Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department. Registration begins at 6:00 p.m.

The fun will continue on Saturday, May 26, from 8:00 a.m. to dusk with a rummage sale, craft show, tractor show, car cruise, parade, games, food, and much more.

Free hayrides will be available throughout the day to transport visitors from all the events.

The 2018 celebrations will conclude with a fireworks display at dusk presented by Rizer.

Mayfest is sponsored by the Washington Township Community Association, which was formed 27 years ago to promote the heritage of Fryburg and Marble by bringing families and friends together in celebration.
