SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Forell Innovation, a Shippenville fitness center, will host its annual “Murph” workout on Monday, May 28 starting at 10:00 a.m. The event is free, but participants are asked for a donation to the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation.

“Murph” is a classic CrossFit workout to honor Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in action in Afghanistan on June 28, 2005.

The workout consists of the following:

• 1 mile Run
• 100 Pull-ups
• 200 Push-ups
• 300 Air Squats
• 1 mile Run

“Each exercise can be infinitely scaled to fit the individual’s activity level,” said Rob Forell. “Unable to do pull-ups? We have ring-rows. Hate push-ups? Try them with your hands on a box or against the wall. Uncomfortable with air squats? You can do lunges or step-ups. This is not a competition, but a united effort.”

Guest host for the event is Conrad Warner representing Unity for 63.

“All are welcome–friends, family, sweat enthusiasts–anyone that wants to join us in honoring a fallen American hero the best way we know how,” continued Forell.

“Murph’ is the story of an amazing human being who gave his courage and ultimate sacrifice for his team and country. So on this day, we participate in this national reverence with gyms across the country as our way of paying tribute and honoring the fallen and turning this annual workout into a fundraiser for a great cause. They gave all so that we can give some.”
