Local Fire Departments, Emergency Services Participate Mock Crash Event at Keystone High School

KNOX, Pa. (EYT) — Students at Keystone High School attended a mock crash event Friday morning.

The event, originally planned for Friday, May 4, but was postponed when a fatal crash took the life of a Keystone alumnus early that morning.

“We postponed out of respect for the family,” Keystone Principal Brad Wagner told exploreClarion.com.

According to Wagner, the school does not hold a mock crash event annually but tries to have one every few years.

The event gives students an up close and personal view of a simulation of the possible outcomes of drinking and driving.

Knox Volunteer Fire Company, Shippenville-Elk Township Volunteer Fire Department, Knox Ambulance, and LifeFlight participated in this year’s event, along with local authorities.
