Woman Jailed on Attempted Homicide Charges After Shots Fired During Sigel Dispute

ELDRED TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A 35-year-old woman was jailed for attempted homicide and related charges following a dispute early Saturday morning in the Sigel area.

A release issued by Marienville-based State Police Detective Shawn Nicewonger said the incident happened around 2:45 a.m. at 12702 Fisher Road in Eldred Township, Jefferson County.

During the altercation, the suspect — 35-year-old Rose Lazaron of Leechburg — allegedly retrieved a firearm, pointed it at a 33-year-old Leechburg man and then fired a round into a nearby wall.

When the victim attempted to disarm Lazaron, a struggled ensued and another round was discharged in close proximity to the victim.

Lazaron then allegedly proceeded to strike the victim repeatedly on both forearms, his right shoulder and his head using the pistol, according to the release.

The victim was able to flee the residence. He was transported to Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital where he was treated for moderate injuries.

Lazaron was taken into custody and charged with the following offenses:

– Criminal Attempt Homicide
– Aggravated Assault
– Recklessly Endangering Another Person
– Simple Assault
– Discharge of a Firearm into an Occupied Structure

She was then lodged in the Jefferson County Jail after failing to post $75,000.00 bail.

The investigation is ongoing.
