PINE CREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Clarion man was flown to a Pittsburgh-area hospital after a Monday morning crash in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, around 10:37 a.m. on Monday, May 28, 56-year-old Jeffrey D. Lesher, of Clarion, was operating a 2005 Harley Davidson Sportster, traveling eastbound on U.S. 322 just west of T-520.

Police say Lesher failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway and lost control of the motorcycle causing it to exit the highway.

The motorcycle then impacted a telephone pole support wire before coming to final rest along the southbound berm of the roadway.

Lesher was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was flown from the scene to Allegheny General Hospital via LifeFlight for injuries of an unknown severity.

The motorcycle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by McPherson Towing.

Lesher was cited for careless driving.
