Dewey M. Kiffer

Dewey M. Kiffer, 90, of Sebring, OH, formerly of Endeavor, PA, passed in peace on Monday morning May 28, 2018, at Copeland Oaks Retirement Community in Sebring.

He was born in Oil City, PA, on December 25, 1927, son of Dewey V. and Coral A. (McMillen) Kiffer. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and married his wife of 65 years, Shirley Jean (Sampsell) Kiffer in Oil City on January 18, 1946. She preceded him in death on May 4, 2011. Dewey was a minister and evangelist for churches in Pennsylvania, Michigan and New York for years. He also spent time as a painting contractor and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting, fishing and family time.

He is survived by his six children: Linda Moulton and her husband Jim of Ontario, Canada; Carolyn “Sue” Storey and her husband Mark of Muskegon, MI; Dr. Mark Kiffer and his wife Terri of Prescott, AZ; Steven Kiffer and his wife Cheri of South Daytona Beach, FL; Kenneth Kiffer and his wife Carlotta of Laingsburg, MI; and Neva “Jean” Hardy and her husband Rev. Daniel Hardy, Sr. of Salem, OH. He is also survived by his sister Mary Ann Latham of Sparta, MI, fifteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.

In addition to his parents and wife, Dewey was preceded in death by an infant son, Kevin Kiffer, his granddaughter, Kimi Moulton and his brother Dr. Theodore Kiffer.

No public visitation is planned. A private graveside service is planned at Kiffer Hill Cemetery in Tionesta, PA on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. with his son-in-law, Rev. Daniel Hardy, Sr., officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.
