Evelyn Elizabeth “Curly” Porter, age 90, of West Sunbury passed away at 11:15 AM Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Grove City Medical Center.
Evelyn was born May 1, 1928, in West Monterey, PA. She was the daughter of the late Preston Shawl and the late Gladys Armada Snyder Shawl. Evelyn was a homemaker and a member of the West Sunbury Presbyterian Church.
Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Carol(Ronald)Link of Simpsonville, SC and Mary(Kenneth)Peffer of Harrisville; four sons, Bruce Porter, Charles(Nancy)Porter, William(Beverly)Porter all of West Sunbury and James Porter of Slippery Rock; her daughter-in-law, Linda Porter of West Sunbury; 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Also surviving are one brother, Victor J. Shawl of West Sunbury and a number of nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, her son, Ronald and two sisters.
The family will receive friends at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main Street West Sunbury from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Sunday, June 3, 2018. Funeral services will be held at the West Sunbury Presbyterian Church at 11 AM Monday, June 4, 2018 with Rev. Jeffrey Lang, her pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park .
