Clarion Woman Punches, Scratches Man; Jailed on Assault Charges

CLARION TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Clarion woman is facing assault and related charges after allegedly hitting and scratching a man earlier this week in Clarion Township.

Court documents indicate the Clarion-based State Police filed criminal charges against 23-year-old Tasha Michele Rigetta, of Clarion.

According to a criminal complaint, around 8:10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, Tasha Michele Rigetta, and a known male engaged in a verbal argument of a personal nature at a residence on Robinwood Drive in Clarion Township.

The complaint states that during the argument, Rigetta became irate and struck the victim multiple times on the arms with a closed fist as he was trying to protect his face and head.

According to the complaint, Rigetta then went upstairs and consumed an unknown amount of medication in front of the victim. The victim tried to get Rigetta to spit out the medication but was unsuccessful.

The victim then went outside of the residence to tell a nearby friend to call 9-1-1.

According to the complaint, Rigetta overheard the victim and ran outside, where she scratched the victim on his right shoulder, causing two scratch marks.

Rigetta was arraigned at 12:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6, on the following charges:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

Unable to post $1,000.00 cash bail, she was lodged in the Clarion County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, with Judge Quinn presiding.
