Jefferson County Coroner Brenda Shumaker confirmed there were two fatalities — a 72-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man — in Friday morning’s fire.

According to the Marienville-based State Police, a third individual — a 46-year-old woman — was transported to West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh via STAT MedEvac where she was treated for smoke inhalation and moderate burns.

According to an official from Jefferson County 9-1-1, the call came in at around 7:00 a.m. for a fire on Route. 949, near Campers Paradise and Ames Circle, in Heath Township.

Sigel Volunteer Fire Department, Sigel Volunteer Fire Department Ward 2 Millstone Township, Farmington Volunteer Fire Department, Marienville Volunteer Fire Company, Warsaw Township Volunteer Fire Department, Pine Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Corsica Volunteer Fire Company, and Brookville Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched to the scene.

According to the Jefferson County Coroner Brenda Shumaker, a cadaver dog from Harrisburg was called to the scene late this morning.

Officials say local passenger vehicle traffic is being detoured onto Ames Circle, but recommend avoiding the area if possible.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time; the investigation is ongoing.

The names of the deceased are being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
