Rimersburg Man Accused of Striking Victim with Fist, Shoe

MADISON TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Rimersburg man is facing assault charges following an incident that occurred in Madison Township earlier this month.

Court documents indicate the Clarion-based State Police filed criminal charges against 42-year-old John William Fancher III of Rimersburg.

According to a criminal complaint, around 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 4, John Fancher entered into a dispute with a known female victim at a residence on Lawsonham Road in Madison Township.

The complaint states that the victim called Fancher to have him remove his possessions from her residence. He agreed, but after he arrived, they entered into a verbal dispute.

According to the complaint, the argument turned physical, and Fancher allegedly grabbed the victim by her hair, threw her to the ground, and struck her with a shoe and his fist. He then allegedly threw a set of keys at the victim’s face, hitting her in the nose.

The victim had a cut on her nose, bruising on her forearms, and a lump behind her left ear, and also complained of pain in her back, according to the complaint.

Based on the investigation, the following charges were filed on Monday, June 11, in Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey C. Miller’s office:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, with Judge Miller presiding.
