Shippenville Man Accused of Punching Woman, Slamming Her Head Off Floor Waives Hearing

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — A Shippenville man waived his preliminary hearing this week on assault and related charges after allegedly punching a woman and slamming her head during a dispute.

According to court documents, on Tuesday, June 19, the following charges against 31-year-old Markco Angelo Gervasoni of Shippenville were waived for court:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

One count of second-degree felony strangulation was withdrawn.

Charges have been transferred to the Clarion County Court of Common Pleas.

Gervasoni is free on $1,0000.00 bond.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 3:30 a.m. on Monday, June 4, Markco Angelo Gervasoni and a known female began arguing at a location along Main Street in Shippenville.

Gervasoni became angry and started “throwing the victim around on the floor.”

According to the complaint, when the victim attempted to defend herself, Gervasoni punched her in the face, causing her nose to bleed, and then slammed her head off the floor.

After the victim was able to get to her feet and get away, Gervasoni grabbed her by the shirt and slammed her into a doorway causing a large lump on the right side of her forehead.
