FARMINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Marienville-based State Police say a hit-and-run crash occurred late Thursday night in Tylersburg, Farmington Township, Clarion County.

According to police, around 10:51 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, a 2010 Subaru Legacy was traveling west on Sunny Road in Tylersburg, when the vehicle — for unknown reasons — lost control while negotiating a left-hand curve. The Subaru briefly traveled across the opposing eastbound lane of traffic before re-entering the proper lane and then exiting the roadway on the northern side.

The vehicle then impacted a tree, re-entered the roadway, spinning out of control and then came to a final rest in the opposing eastbound lane of traffic.

The vehicle was disabled at the scene.

According to police, the driver, whose identity is unknown, fled the scene on foot.

Snyder’s Auto Body assisted at the scene.

EDITOR’S NOTE: A previous report issued by the police and published on exploreClarion.com erroneously listed the driver as a 70-year-old Tylersburg man due to an auto-populate error.
