Michael J. Krevda

Screen Shot 2018-07-13 at 8.09.33 AMMichael J. Krevda of West Middlesex passed away peacefully Monday evening, July 9, 2018, in his residence. He was 92.

Mr. Krevda was born December 11, 1925, in Somerset, PA, a son of the late John and Mary (Buschko) Krevda. He graduated from Somerset High School in 1944 and served in the U.S. Army during WWII.

Following his honorable discharge, Michael entered the Pennsylvania State Police Academy, Clarion, PA, and served as a State Trooper for several years.

He then entered into business with his two brothers, and together they owned and operated Krevda Bros. Express Trucking, Knox, PA.

Michael was also employed as a dispatcher and office manager for Chadderton Trucking, and later in the same capacity at Yourga Trucking, both Wheatland, retiring in 2008.

He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Hubbard, OH, where he served as an usher.

Earlier in life, Michael served his community in many capacities, and until recently actively served as the President of the Oak Tree Country Club Condo Association, West Middlesex.

He enjoyed golfing and bowling, and was a devout Penn State University and Pittsburgh sports fan.

Surviving are: his beloved wife of 65 years, the former Ethel Baker, whom he married August 9, 1952; two daughters, Sharon K. Campise and her husband Gerard, Thousand Oaks, CA; and Connie A. Parker and her husband Craig, Moorpark, CA; a sister Margaret Rector and her husband Arvel, Seattle, WA; two grandchildren, Anthony Campise and Lisa Graham; and a great-granddaughter, Kiera Paredes.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by a son, Kevin M. Krevda; two sisters, Mary Krevda and Anne Napier; and two brothers, John and Joseph Krevda.

A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
