OIL CITY, Pa. — Save a life and get a sweet reward: Community Blood Bank will have a bloodmobile at Shreffler’s Snack Shack Annual Car Cruise-In and donors are needed to boost the local blood supply.

The blood drive will be at Shreffler’s Snack Shack located at 1552 Route 322, Kossuth, Pa., on Monday, July 16, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

It is open to the community and walk-ins are welcome.

All donors will receive a $10.00 Shreffler’s Snack Shack gift card for making a blood donation.

During the summer months, the need for blood increases while donations decrease.

“The need for blood never takes a vacation. It’s important to take the time to donate,” says Kathy Hastings, Community Blood Bank mobile drive coordinator. “Your donation can save up to three lives.”

Blood donations made with Community Blood Bank impact the blood supply at local hospitals; therefore, donations help local family, friends, and neighbors in need.

Individuals are eligible to give blood if it has been 56 days since their last donation; they are at least 17 years of age (16 with parental consent); weigh at least 110 pounds; have not received a tattoo or body piercing in the past 12 months; and are in good general health. Donors must have a valid photo ID.

Prior to donating, those giving blood should eat a good solid meal and drink at least 18 oz. of water.
