Rimersburg Man Accused of Assaulting Woman with Shoe

MADISON TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Rimersburg man facing assault charges after physical altercation in Madison Township waived his preliminary hearing on Tuesday.

According to court documents, on Tuesday, July 17, the following charges against 43-year-old John William Fancher III, of Rimersburg, were waived for court:

  • Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
  • Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

Charges have been transferred to the Clarion County Court of Common Pleas.

Unable to post $5,000.00 cash bail, Fancher remains lodged in the Clarion County Jail.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 4, John Fancher entered into a dispute with a known female victim at a residence on Lawsonham Road in Madison Township.

The complaint states that the victim called Fancher to have him remove his possessions from her residence. He agreed, but after he arrived, they entered into a verbal dispute.

According to the complaint, the argument turned physical, and Fancher allegedly grabbed the victim by her hair, threw her to the ground, and struck her with a shoe and his fist. He then allegedly threw a set of keys at the victim’s face, hitting her in the nose.

The victim had a cut on her nose, bruising on her forearms, and a lump behind her left ear, and also complained of pain in her back, according to the complaint.
