Teen Accused of Choking Woman During Domestic Dispute

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — An 18-year-old male is facing felony strangulation and child endangerment charges following a violent domestic incident on Thursday evening in Irwin Township, Venango County.

Court documents indicate the Franklin-based State Police filed criminal charges against 18-year-old Patrick Lynn Lindsay, Jr., of Harrisville.

According to a criminal complaint, around 6:52 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, Trooper Peters, of the Franklin-based State Police, was dispatched to a residence on Slippery Rock Creek Road in Harrisville for a domestic incident.

The complaint states that Patrick Lindsay had a physical altercation with a known female victim on the second floor of the residence.

According to the complaint, Lindsay was damaging items on the second floor, and when he wanted to hold a known infant and the victim told him “no,” he grabbed the child’s left leg and tried to take the child.

The complaint states that Lindsay then put both of his hands around the victim’s throat, causing the victim to be unable to breathe and to begin losing consciousness.

Another individual then pulled Lindsay off the victim and restrained him until the police arrived.

According to the complaint, Lindsay was arrested and transported to PSP Franklin around 7:01 p.m.

Lindsay was arraigned at 9:55 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, in Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland’s office on the following charges:

  • Strangulation — Blocking the Nose and Mouth of the Person, Felony 2
  • Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
  • Endangering Welfare of Children — Parent/Guardian/Other Commits Offense, Felony 3
  • Unable to post $5,000.00 cash bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

    A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 am on Wednesday, August 8, with Judge Kirtland presiding.
