New Bethlehem Man Accused of Assault Faces Hearing Today

SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — A New Bethlehem man is facing a preliminary hearing on assault and related charges on Tuesday morning.

According to court documents, a preliminary hearing is scheduled for 22-year-old Dustin Lee Struble, of New Bethlehem, at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, with Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey C. Miller presiding.

He faces the following charges:

  • Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2
  • Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2 (two counts)
  • Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

Struble is currently free on $5,000.00 monetary bail.

According to a criminal complaint, around 7:21 p.m. on Monday, July 23, Officer Bowser, of the New Bethlehem Police Department, was dispatched to a residence on Brookville Street in Hawthorn Borough for a report of an assault.

Upon his arrival, Officer Bowser found the female victim sitting on the rear porch of the residence with abrasions to both knees.

The victim stated that Dustin Struble had arrived to pick up his children, and as he was placing them in the car seats, the victim was standing beside the vehicle attempting to speak with him.

The victim reported that Struble then proceeded to back up the vehicle, striking her with the car door. He then pulled the vehicle forward again, placed it in reverse, and struck her a second time, knocking her to the ground. The victim said that Struble then left the scene, according to the complaint.

Struble was arrested and arraigned at 8:45 p.m. on July 23 in Magisterial District Judge Timothy P. Schill’s office.
