Last month Governor Wolf announced a new education plan out of the blue, slashing funding for rural school districts and sending your tax dollars to Philadelphia and Eastern PA.

The governor wants to allocate all state education funds based on the funding formula passed in 2016. This is exactly what the legislature prohibits in that law, because it would mean deep cuts to 362 school districts in favor of a $402 million dollar increase to Philadelphia schools.

Our children’s education would be the hardest hit. The cuts would mean teacher layoffs and program cuts and would no doubt raise your school taxes.

Here is what would be cut from some of our local school districts:

A C Valley ($3,761,528), Clarion Limestone ($964,017), Keystone ($3,900,873), North Clarion ($2,331,208), Redbank Valley ($5,328,877), Union ($3,139,554), Karns City ($5,563,138), Moniteau ($4,280,228), Cranberry ($4,040,672, Franklin ($5,282,735), Oil City ($4,165,941) & Rocky Grove ($4,209,134).

If you live in any of these school districts you should be scared to death of how Tom Wolf wants to rob from you and send your hard earned tax dollars to Philadelphia! If you would like to see more, go to the website tomwolfcutsschools.com.

Our great commonwealth cannot afford four more years of Tom Wolf’s disastrous policies. On November 6 vote for Scott Wagner for Governor, Lou Barletta for U. S. Senate, Donna Oberlander (63rd) & Lee James (64th) to protect you and your children’s future!

Rick Rathfon, Chairman
Clarion County Republican Committee
