Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, Officer Savulchak, of the New Bethlehem Police Department, was monitoring traffic in the area of Cherry Run Street and Main Street in Rimersburg when she observed a blue Dodge fail to come to a complete stop for a clearly posted stop sign. The driver proceeded east on Main Street.

In a marked patrol vehicle, Officer Savulchak followed the Dodge and activated the lights and siren in an attempt to initiate a traffic stop.

The complaint states that the driver of the vehicle refused to pull over, then made a left onto Baker Street and a second left into a driveway, failing to use the left turn signal twice.

The female driver attempted to exit the vehicle, and Officer Savulchak made contact with her, advising her to stay inside the vehicle. A check of the registration vehicle came back as expired as of July 31, 2017.

When the driver was advised to roll down the driver’s side window, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from within. Officer Savulchak observed that the driver had red, bloodshot, watery eyes. The driver was identified as Misty Conner.

Field sobriety tests were administered and a preliminary breath test was given. She tested positive for an alcoholic beverage, according to the complaint.

Conner was arrested and transported to the Clarion Hospital; she gave permission for a blood draw, the complaint states.
