Blown Tire Causes Accident on Interstate 80
According to police, around 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 20-year-old Brendan Bossard of Lima, OH, was operating a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta, traveling east in the left lane of Interstate 80 in Clarion Township near mile marker 66.
Police say the vehicle traveling in the left lane in front of Bossard’s vehicle blew a tire and the tire struck the front end of Bossard’s vehicle.
According to police, the driver of the vehicle that blew a tire pulled over and stopped on the right eastbound shoulder to examine the damage to the vehicle before continuing east on Interstate 80.
Bossard brought his vehicle to a rest on the left shoulder of the road. He was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
