Donald RudgeRev. Donald E. Rudge, 63, of Oil City, died unexpectedly, Friday, August 10, 2018, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Born June 26, 1955, in Johnstown, he was the son of Donald E. and Dorothy J. Young Rudge.

After graduating from high school, Don worked for several years at Fisher Auto Parts in South Fork, and while working there was called to the ministry and began his ordination studies.

Rev. Rudge served as the pastor for Centennial UMC from 2003-2006, New Paris UMC from 2006-2010, and Sigel, Zion, and Clarington UMC from 2010-2013 before moving to Oil City as the pastor of Trinity and Bethel UMC in 2013.

Don loved church music and enjoyed singing. He was an avid reader in pastoral related publications, enjoyed following the news, current events, and politics, and liked attending and watching dog shows.

On May 15, 2004, he was married to the former Sherry L. Sherk who survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Steven T. Martin of Mt. Airy, NC; a step-son, Adrian Rodriguez of Boiling Springs; and a step-daughter, Aaron-Nicole Rodriguez of Frankston, TX.

Also surviving is a sister, Randy Rudge.

Friends may call at Trinity United Methodist Church in Oil City on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. where a funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jodie Smith and the Rev. Samuel Wagner officiating.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Hope Lodge of Central PA, 125 Lucy Ave., Hummelstown, PA 17036.
