New Bethlehem Woman Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Salem Township

SALEM TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say a New Bethlehem woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Route 208 in Salem Township.

According to police, around 4:26 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 22-year-old Lewis J. Knight, of Shippenville, was operating a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt traveling east on State Route 208 just west of Ron McHenry Road.

Police say Knight failed to notice a 2012 Buick Verano, operated by 54-year-old Tracy L. Calhoun, of New Bethlehem, stopped ahead. Knight’s vehicle struck Calhoun’s vehicle from behind and both vehicles came to a rest in the eastbound lane.

Knox EMS transported Calhoun and her juvenile passenger to the Clarion Hospital for injuries of unknown severity.

Knight was not injured.

Both drivers were using seat belts.

Knight was charged with a traffic violation.
