Delores Early Smith

Delores Early Smith, 75, of Clarview Nursing Home in Sligo, formerly of Foxburg, Pa., passed away at the Butler Memorial Hospital on Friday, August 17, 2018.

Born on August 15th, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ethel Hamilton Early. Delores later married Darl Donald Smith who preceded her in death in 1990.

Delores was a kind soul who enjoyed many hugs, coloring pictures, and working on crossword puzzles. Her grandchildren, Alex and Kara, were her pride and joy. Delores loved the color purple, earning her the nickname “Ms. Purple Lady” from the visitors and staff during her time at Clarview.

She is survived by one daughter, Sue Ann (Steven) Goodman of Parker; one sister, Ida Deitz of Frogtown; one brother, Rhueben Early of Rimersburg; and two grandchildren, Alex and Kara of Parker.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Lee Smith in 2012; two brothers, Thomas Early and Darrel (Doug) Early; and three sisters, Betty Best, Harriet Frazier, and Phyllis Bradford.

Friends may call 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21, at H. Hack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 So. Wayne Ave. Parker, where Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Private Interment will follow at the Concord Cemetery.
