Driver Blacks Out, Crashes into Porch Near Corsica

UNION TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say a driver blacked out and crashed her vehicle into the porch of a residence in Union Township last week.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 3:35 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 65-year-old Vickie J. Talbott, of Brookville, was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Impala, traveling west on U.S. 322 just east of Wayland Lane in Union Township, Jefferson County.

Police say Talbott blacked out at the wheel, causing the vehicle to travel across the eastbound lanes of travel through a property where the vehicle struck a lilac tree, and onto another property where the vehicle impacted the front porch of a residence.

After the impact with the porch, the vehicle backed up and pulled into the driveway, coming to a final rest facing northwest.

Talbott was wearing a seatbelt and was transported by Jefferson County EMS to Brookville Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries.

Corsica Fire Department and Leadbetter Towing assisted at the scene.
