Rimersburg Man Sentenced Up to Two Years for Assault of 11-Year-Old Boy

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – A Rimersburg man who assaulted a boy during a domestic incident in Knox Township was sentenced to up to two years behind bars on Wednesday.

President Judge James Arner on Wednesday, September 5, sentenced 35-year-old Ryan Michael Salizzoni, of Rimersburg, to a minimum of 30 days to a maximum of two years less one day incarceration, with credit for one day served.

“I do find that a period of incarceration is appropriate given the nature of the offense and the need for correctional treatment,” Judge Arner said. “A lesser sentence could depreciate the seriousness of the crime.”

Salizzoni will be required to pay $734.80 restitution and have no contact with the victim.

He will also be required to complete domestic violence counseling and perform 50 hours of community service.

Salizzoni pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree misdemeanor simple assault on June 20.

Case details:

According to a criminal complaint, Trooper Allison, of the Clarion-based State Police, was called to a Knox Township residence along State Route 66 around 9:38 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, for a report of a domestic assault.

The victim — an 11-year-old boy — told Trooper Allison that Ryan Salizzoni picked him up by the neck with his hand and held him against the wall. Trooper Allison saw redness on the boy’s neck and left ear, the complaint states.

Trooper Allison also spoke with the victim’s mother, and she said she had to pull Salizzoni from the boy after she saw what he was doing to him.
