Bernice J. “Buzz” Anderson

Bernice J. “Buzz” Anderson, 90, of Lincoln Street, Kane, died Monday, September 3, 2018, at UPMC Hamot in Erie.

Born May 24, 1928, in Redbank, she was the daughter of Thomas R. and Lillie Mae Thomas Buzard. On November 13, 1954, in Kane, she married Kenneth J. Anderson, who died in 1989.

Buzz was secretary of The Presbyterian Church in Kane for over 42 years and was involved with the Board of Elections for many years.

A member of The Presbyterian Church, she sang in the Chancel Choir, belonged to the Women’s Circle, was a trustee, financial secretary, and Clerk of Session for many years. She was an avid oil painter in the local art league and, in earlier years, enjoyed square dancing and cross-country skiing.

Surviving are a daughter Colette (John Anderson) Anderson of Kane and a son Keith (Susie) Anderson of Cottonwood, Ariz.; grandsons Kyle and Ken Anderson, and two sisters-in-law. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her husband, by her sister Lois Jean Damier and her brother, Roy “Beaky” Buzard.

Friends may attend a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 22, at the Presbyterian Church in Kane with the rev. Lee Beckes officiating. Interment of her cremated remains will have taken place earlier in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Kane.
