State Representative Oberlander Makes Big Splash

FOREST CO., Pa. — Last week, 63rd District State Representative Donna Oberlander (R) made a big splash as she helped stock fish on a beautiful September day alongside members of the Marienville Rod & Gun Club.

Rep. Oberlander laid aside her State House leadership duties on Tuesday, September 4, to assist members of the club stock over 1000 trout in various Forest County streams.

Rep. Oberlander’s 63rd State House District includes Jenks and Barnett Townships in Forest County where many of the trout were stocked. Several students from Abraxas helped the many club members present along with club president Joe Rogers stock the Forest County streams with rainbow, brook, brown, and palomino trout.

The Marienville Rod & Gun Club raised over 27,000 trout at their own expense this year for stocking in local waters.

The Marienville Rod & Gun Club is its 54th year of raising and stocking fish for angling enjoyment in Forest County. The club has been raising and stocking fish since 1965.
