State Police Calls: Assault, Theft, Disorderly Conduct

CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) – Clarion-based State Police responded to the following calls:

Assault in Toby Township

According to police, this incident occurred as 36-year-old Gilbert Dawson, of Rimersburg, allegedly shoved a known victim onto a couch at a residence in Toby Township, causing the victim to suffer internal injuries.

Dawson was arraigned at 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 6, in Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey C. Miller on one count of second-degree misdemeanor simple assault and one count of summary harassment. Unable to post $2,500.00 cash bail, he was lodged in the Clarion County Jail.

He was released on Friday, September 7, on a surety posted by a professional bondsman.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18, with Judge Miller presiding.

Theft in Limestone Township

Police say a known Strattanville woman had an unknown individual access her bank account sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on June 27.

Disorderly Conduct in Paint Township

According to police, around 9:10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5, a known 60-year-old Shippenville man stepped in front of a road grader while PennDOT was working on State Route 68 in Paint Township.

Police say the man will be cited for disorderly conduct.
