While the game saw a lot of scoring chances from Clarion early in the game, Kemmer broke the 0-0 tie in the 31st minute to give the Lady Cats a 1-0 halftime lead.
Kemmer talked about her goal and the win.
The second half saw more of the same from the Lady Cats as they continued to wear out the Lady Panthers in their own end with multiple scoring chances. Emily Grabiak set up the Beveridge goal with about eight minutes left in the game to make the score 2-0.
With 2:55 left to play, Keystone was awarded a penalty. Sophomore Hannah Hazlett, who was making her first career varsity start for Clarion, made the initial stop but gave up long rebound that was picked up by Paige Cotton who jumped on the opportunity and got the goal for the Lady Panthers to cut the lead to 2-1.
Clarion rebounded nicely after the Cotton goal by not allowing the Lady Panthers to have any more scoring chances in the final two minutes. Instead, the Lady Cats pushed up the field and got a couple more scoring chances of their own before time expired.
The win puts the Lady Cats at 1-4 on the season, and the Lady Panthers fall to 1-3.
