Momma Mindy’s House of Hair to Host Open House on September 17
“Momma” Mindy Beichner, a native of Fryburg who has been working as a stylist for over fifteen years, opened Momma Mindy’s House of Hair in August.
After undergoing some major life changes, she was offered the opportunity to start her own business and decided to go for it.
“This was like an unexpected adventure,” Beichner said. “I just did it one step at a time.”
A single mother of two, Beichner wants her salon to be welcoming to everyone, including kids and teens. One of the projects she’s still working on is a back room that she wants to turn into a game room. It currently houses an arcade basketball hoop.
“If kids have to get their hair cut, then the other kids are occupied, or if moms or dads have to bring kids, there’s something to do other than sit there. Kids get bored, and with the game room, they will look forward to coming to the salon.”
“I only have two of my own kids, but somehow I seem to have a whole bunch of kids! That’s where the whole ‘Mamma Mindy’ came from.”
“I’m not the average salon owner, or the average hairstylist either.”
The open house event at Momma Mindy’s House of Hair will run from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 17.
There will be beverages, snacks, and drawings for both a gift basket and gift certificates.
Free consultations will be available, and anyone stopping by can get $10.00 off a chemical service booked that day or $5.00 off a cut or gel manicures scheduled that day.
Momma Mindy’s House of Hair is located at 400 Huston Avenue in Knox, just across from the Keystone Elementary School in the former Point of Caring building.
