Rachel Eck 88, of Marienville, died on Monday, September 17, 2018, at Penn Highlands Hospital in Brookville.

She was born on November 16, 1929, in Blueridge, PA, the daughter of the late Alex and Julia Haight Ishman.

Rachel was married to Albert Dempsey on October 17, 1951, he preceded her in death.

She enjoyed making fudge, playing BINGO, and spending time with her grandkids. Before its closing, she was employed at the Marienville Glass Factory. She was of the Methodist Faith.

Rachel is survived by three sons, Oscar (Ginny) Eck of Marienville, Nathan (Ann) Eck of Marienville, Adam (Pam) Eck of Cooksburg; two daughters, Bobbi (Raymond) Gerst of Marienville, and Joy (Dale) Croasmun of Morrisdale. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Malissa, Colby and wife Cheri, Angela, Justin, Kevin and wife Natasha, Tanner, Ashley, Edwin Jr. and wife Emiliee, and Christopher; six great-grandchildren, Brooke, Lindsey, Lucas, Camiliee, Edwin, and Mollie; and two step-great-grandchildren, Austin and Xavier.

Along with her parents and husband, Rachel is preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Furlong Funeral Home, 140 Cherry Street, Marienville, PA. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with Doug Hepler officiating. Interment will follow at Redclyffe Cemetery, Barnett Twp. Forest County, PA.
