According to Clarion County 9-1-1, the call came in at 12:08 a.m. on Tuesday, September 18, for a report of a tractor-trailer fire near mile marker 56 on Interstate 80 eastbound.
Knox Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to the scene and quickly extinguished the fire before it could spread.
Clarion-based State Police also responded.
The scene was cleared at 2:33 a.m.
No injuries were reported.
Bauer Truck Repair was on the scene late Tuesday morning to remove the tractor-trailer and clean up what could only be described as a slippery situation.
“Luckily, the fire department responded quickly and put the fire out or the truck would have been toast,” said Randy Bauer, Owner of Bauer Truck Repair.
Bauer said only a marginal amount of the load was destroyed.
