What happened to the Republican Party?

The radical right has hijacked the Republican Party. The once great Republican Party, that stood for freedom and family and values, has sunk into a cesspool party dominated and controlled by lunatic fear mongers who do nothing but point at others and say “they are to blame!” for the problems of the world.

Who are the radical right of the Republican Party? The holier-than-thou who sit on their high horse and throw blame onto everyone else while holding themselves harmless because in their minds it’s always someone else’s fault. They cast their hate toward anyone different from themselves. If you don’t look, think, and behave exactly as they say you should, then all of the world’s ills are because of you. If that sounds a lot like the same rational used to justify history’s most atrocious behavior – including genocide and slavery – that’s because it is the same rational.

Who are their victims? Women, minorities, immigrants, LGBTQ individuals, and anyone who isn’t a wealthy white Christian male.

This victim’s group is being forced to deal with discrimination in 2018 when such bull you-know-what has been widely condemned for decades or even centuries – yet the radical right wing continues casting blame because it’s all they know how to do.

They also attack ideas they don’t understand because those ideas make them feel threatened. They’ll tell you that socialism is the devil and that socialists want “what others have earned”. Never mind that socialist programs are literally what make America great. Do you doubt this? Fine. For those who hate socialism so much, please feel free to build your own roads to drive upon and stay off of public roadways. Don’t ever send your children or grandchildren to public schools. Give back your own public school diploma and seek a separate private GED. Same goes for the state system colleges. When your house is on fire, tell the firefighters not to bother, because you don’t want their socialist help. Have fun hiring your own private bodyguards after you tell the police you don’t want their socialist protection, too. Oh, and remember to tell the troops you no longer support them and their socialist U.S. military and wish to form your own private army instead.

I used to be a proud Republican when that actually meant something, but it has become a party of hate and blame and no longer represents the great values it once did.

Anyone who votes Republican this mid-term election is sacrificing their personal decency and integrity to maintain blaming others for life’s ills; how ironic since the Republican Party claims to be the party of “personal responsibility”.
