Suspect Taken into Custody After Police Situation in Rimersburg

RIMERSBURG, Pa. (EYT) — A suspect was taken into custody in Rimersburg on Monday afternoon following a police situation at Cherry Run Estates.

According to Clarion County 9-1-1, Southern Clarion County Police Department was dispatched after a call came in at 10:09 a.m. for a situation at Cherry Run Estates apartment complex located on Chestnut Street in Rimersburg.

Pennsylvania State Police in Clarion said they were called to the scene almost immediately at 10:12 a.m.

The incident then lasted approximately 4 1/2 hours before the unnamed suspect was taken into custody.

Cherry Run Street and a portion of Chestnut Street were closed during the incident. All roadways are now open.

A representative at the Union School District said the district’s Rimersburg Elementary and Union High School were not on lockdown during the incident but that dismissal was delayed approximately 10 to 15 minutes until the district was informed that the situation was under control.

Police declined to release further information citing an active investigation.
