It is the first career weekly honor for Sanders, who shares the awards with Ohio State’ Dwayne Haskins.

Sanders had a career-high with 200 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries in a 63-24 win at Illinois Friday night. The effort was the second career 100-yard outing of Sanders’ career and first 200-yard games. Sanders is the 28th player in Pen State history with 200 rushing yards in a game and the first to accomplish the feat since Saquon Barkley had 211 yards at Iowa in 2017.

Sanders also became the sixth player (nine occasions) in Penn State history to have 200 rushing yards and at least three rushing touchdowns in a game. The last player with 200 rushing yards and three scores was Larry Johnson in 2002, which he accomplished twice that season.

The No. 9-ranked Nittany Lions host No. 4 Ohio State for the Penn State White Out Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on ABC. Penn State is also hosting ESPN’s College GameDay Saturday morning from 9 a.m.-noon.
